CityWorks DC to Host Second Hospitality Hiring Event, Partnering with Premier District Employers

Organizers expect almost 100 candidates to interview for 45 good-paying roles across the city.

Washington, DC – Tomorrow, CityWorks DC, a leading collaborator in the DC education-to-employment ecosystem, will host their second hospitality hiring event in collaboration with Hire Local DC, a coalition committed to facilitating quality employment opportunities for DC residents. In partnership with hospitality organizations Borger Residential Donohoe Hospitality Services, and Marriott International, CityWorks DC will oversee interviews with hiring managers from 12  employers across the District to fill 45 roles within hotels and managed residencies throughout DC. This event marks a significant milestone within the Hospitality Talent Pipeline Pilot program, an initiative jointly led by employers across the District and CityWorks DC. Thus far, the Pilot has led to 78 hospitality career offers to talent across the District.

With nearly 100 candidates expected to participate, the event promises to attract top-tier talent, showcasing their qualifications and dedication to contributing to the dynamic hospitality landscape of the nation's capital. Before the event, all attendees underwent a comprehensive assessment for job readiness, utilizing a rubric created by CityWorks DC in collaboration with hospitality employers. This evaluation ensured that candidates possessed essential qualifications such as professionalism, punctuality, and a genuine passion for pursuing a career in the hospitality industry.

Candidates attend educational institutions and training providers across DC, including United Planning Organization, DC Public Schools, the University of the District of Columbia, BuildWithin, LAYC Career Academy, Urban Alliance, and ASU Local DC, underscoring the event's commitment to inclusivity and collaboration within the local community.

As the hospitality sector continues to build Washington, DC's economic vitality, initiatives like the Hospitality Talent Pipeline Pilot program epitomize the collaborative efforts driving workforce development and sustainable growth across the District.
